Emergency Medical Services

Robert L. Byrd, Jr., EMT-P, is the Director of Anderson County EMS, 314 Public Safety Lane, Clinton, TN 37716,  Business phone: (865) 457-2520, Emergencies: 911.   ACEMS  Mission Statement: "Anderson County Emergency Medical Service deals with pre-hospital Advanced Medical Care and delivery of the sick and injured to a higher level of care. The Practitioners are Physician Extenders that practice within the guidelines of the Tennessee Department of Public Health and local Medical Control. To do our job well we must be Technically, Mechanically, and Medically prepared to deal with any situation we may encounter. To reach this goal we will be Educated, Trained, and Tested in an ongoing process to insure that the highest standard of patient care is achieved. It is our goal that this EMS System becomes the best."

The Anderson County EMS System answers over 1000 call every month.  Anderson County EMS has seven Advanced Life  Support (ALS) ambulances serving all Anderson County and portions of Oak Ridge and Oliver Springs located within Roane County. There are six ambulance stations operated 24 hours per day. Stations are located in Claxton, Clinton, Lake City, Oak Ridge, and Oliver Springs.  First Response agreements with our local Fire and Police Departments, both municipal and volunteer, help ensure quick response to any patient in need. The 911 system enables both the First Responder and our ambulances to be dispatched in a quick and efficient manner reducing response times and maximizing treatment within the "Golden Hour", the first hour after an accident or illness.
