MORGAN COUNTY EMS

The Morgan County EMS has two 24-hour ALS units, and one 12-hour ALS unit day truck. 

Two stations serve Morgan County.  Station 1 is located on Flat Fork Rd. in the town of Wartburg, and Station 2 is located in the town of Sunbright. 

Morgan County is a rural county with a population of approximately 20,000 and has over 1,200 miles of country roads.  There are no hospitals located in Morgan County, so all transports require going out of the county, which means long transport times. Even with these conditions, Morgan County EMS strives to provide the highest quality of Emergency Medical service possible. Our staff not only provides advanced life support service, they are also trained in 12-lead EKGs, needle cric's and RSIs.

Morgan County is located approximately 25 miles northwest of Oak Ridge, and 18 miles north of Harriman, with two major state highways traversing the county, US highways Hw. 27 and Hwy. 62.

Approximately 2,300 calls are answered each year. These calls are handled by three 24-hour shifts. Morgan County also has a First Responder program which was started with the Volunteer Fire Departments. The First Responders have greatly reduced response time to get emergency medical care to the remote areas of our county.

The Morgan County EMS mission is to provide the best possible pre-hospital care to the people of Morgan County, in an effort to give the public the best possible chance of survival in the event of an emergency.
